Great Lakes Commission

The Great Lakes Commission was founded in 1955. Its mission is to encourage scientific and technical collaboration for the management and preservation of Great Lakes ecosystem resources. It is a binational organization of American states and Canadian provinces, which meet twice a year at conferences held in the spring and fall.

Québec has been an associate member of the organization since 1999. It has been represented on the board of directors since 2002 and participates regularly in the Commission's technical task forces.
