Missions abroad

In the exercise of their duties, members of the Government of Québec and members of the National Assembly travel abroad to establish political, economic, institutional and cultural ties with foreign governments and to participate in regional and international intergovernmental conferences. Depending on the goals, they may also be accompanied by representatives of companies, organizations or institutions.

Le Protocole helps organize:

  • Missions headed by the Premier
  • Missions headed by the Minister of International Relations and La Francophonie
  • Missions headed by members of Cabinet

The level of responsibility and involvement of Le Protocole varies depending on the type of mission and the mandate given to it by government authorities. In general, Le Protocole is in charge of coordinating missions headed by the Premier, in close collaboration with the Office of the Premier.
