Aeronautics mission to Hiroshima

Philippe Bocher, Professor at ETS; Takaaki Abo, Commercial Attaché, Québec Government Office in Tokyo; Randy Summers and Toshiko Nii, City of Hiroshima; Claude Lessard, President, Delastek; and Minoru Tsunoda, interpretor.

Members of the Québec aeronautics mission are pleased with their meetings held during their visit to Hiroshima in March.

With the support of the Québec Government Office in Tokyo, common projects were identified. Tangible outcomes of the meetings include the signing of an academic exchange agreement between the École de technologie supérieure (ETS), which is part of the Université du Québec network, and Hiroshima University. The cities of Montréal and Hiroshima have been twinned for the past 14 years and aeronautics has been targeted as a priority collaboration sector.

Several commercial as well as academic meetings aimed at forging new partnerships in this area of activity were held. The initiative benefited from the support of the Japan External Trade Organization (JETRO), a government-related organization that works to promote trade and investment.
