Québec company CAE, a global leader in modeling, simulation and training for civil aviation and defence, has inaugurated a new commercial aircraft training centre in Barcelona. With a capacity to train more than 600 pilots and 1,000 cabin crew per year, the facility will work hand in hand with Spanish airline company Vueling Airlines, the anchor customer for the project.
This presence has led to the establishment of an long-standing relationship between CAE’s Spanish operations and the Québec Government Office in Barcelona, whose Economic and Commercial Affairs attaché Alfons Calderón was invited by the Québec company to the inauguration ceremony.

During the ceremony, Jeff Roberts, CAE’s Group President, Civil Simulation Products, Training and Services, expressed his satisfaction with the new facility. “Spain is a very important civil aviation market in Europe and we are pleased to add a new location to deliver training for our customers,” he said.
The new centre already features an A320 full-flight simulator and is expandable to four simulators. It thus offers several advantages to users, including training for Airbus A320 pilots and cabin crew that can be provided simultaneously to other operators of the simulation system. CAE’s facility offers over 20 training courses for cabin crew per year, with approximately 30 students per class.
