The British School at Rome, which is dedicated to architectural excellence, has partnered with the Conseil des arts et des lettres du Québec (CALQ) to establish a program that will enable a Québec architect to undertake a three-month research and creation residency in the Italian capital each year. The registration deadline is September 10, 2012.

Program objectives

The objectives of this residency program are to:

  • Offer support adapted to the artistic research of creators in the architectural sector
  • Contribute to the establishment of lasting ties between Québec and foreign architects
  • Give Québec architects an opportunity to engage in a period of artistic renewal in one of the world’s richest cultural centres
  • Promote the work and career development of Québec architects abroad

Artistic field and application terms and conditions

This program is intended for professionals in the field of architectural research (architecture, landscape architecture, urbanism and environmental design) who have practised for at least two years.

Interested persons must complete CALQ’s application form and submit it no later than September 10, 2012.

The studio in Rome is made possible through the collaboration of the British School at Rome and the Québec Government Office in Rome.
