Call for applications: choreographic residency in Berlin

Québec contemporary dance choreographs with at least two years of artistic practice have until September 10, 2012, to apply for the choreographic residency in Berlin.

Made possible by a collaboration between the Conseil des arts et des lettres du Québec (CALQ), TanzWerkstatt Berlin and the Québec Government Office in Berlin, this residency will permit an up-and-coming choreograph to engage in a period of research and artistic renewal and take advantage of the cultural richness of the German capital during the prestigious Tanz im August - International Dance Festival Berlin.

The residency, the grant, the location

The residency will last for two months, from August 15 to October 15, 2013. The $7,500 grant will cover the following expenses: transportation, insurance, accommodations and a per diem allowance. The Berlin partner has already reserved the apartment.

A centre of creation and dissemination, TanzWerkstatt organizes the International Dance Festival Berlin, a true hub of dance in Europe. TanzWerkstatt Berlin is one of the most renowned sites for contemporary dance in Germany. It is a highly professional studio that works closely with numerous contemporary dance centres throughout Europe.
