Vice President of the Republic and Canton of Jura (Switzerland) and Minister of the Department of Economy and Cooperation Michel Probst is heading a trade mission of some 20 Jura companies to Québec from September 8 to 15, 2012.

Mr. Probst and the entire trade delegation were received by Deputy Minister of International Relations Marc Croteau. Mr. Probst and Mr. Croteau expressed their satisfaction with existing ties, on various levels, between Québec and Jura. A meeting was also held at the Ministère de l’Immigration et des Communautés culturelles.

Interest in Québec expertise

In addition to networking activities and targeted meetings with potential partners, the trade delegation is conducting industrial visits in four economic sectors where Québec’s expertise and skills are widely recognized:
  • Aerospace
  • Microelectronics
  • Agri-food
  • Renewable energies

It should be remembered that, following the Montreux Francophonie Summit in October 2010, a cooperation agreement was signed between the Office Québec-Monde pour la jeunesse and the Government of Jura. The same year, the Centre suisse d’études sur le Québec et la Francophonie was inaugurated in Porrentruy. Québec and Jura continue to collaborate and develop cooperative ties.
