The third edition of a Québec products showcase was held at Shin Kong Place department store in Beijing from January 5 to 20, 2013. The event was organized by the Québec government office in Beijing (BQB), in collaboration with the Ministère des Relations internationales, de la Francophonie et du Commerce extérieur and Tourisme Québec.
All told, the participating companies chalked up 1.24 million yuan in sales (close to CAN$200,000) during the 16-day event. Pleased by the public’s reaction to their products, a number of them are planning to head back to Beijing as soon as possible.
China is the world’s number-two economic power, after the United States, and the Québec products showcase is a chance for Québec businesses to get a foothold in the country’s huge domestic market.
