Six Québec businesses from the clean technology industry participated in a trade mission in the United Kingdom from February 11 to 15. This mission was organized by UK Trade & Investment (UKTI), in partnership with the Québec Government Office in London, Écotech Québec, and the British Consulate-General in Montreal.

Québec representatives began their mission by participating in the UKTI Green Technology Roadshow. This very full day allowed them to hear experts talk about green energy and participate in a special networking activity entitled "Meet the buyers.”

Partnership prospects

After London, the group travelled to Manchester, whose population of 2.2 million makes it the 3rd largest urban agglomeration in the United Kingdom. Québec businesses used this opportunity to visit renewable energy power plants. Meetings with British companies that specialize in renewable energies were also on the schedule and opened doors to partnership opportunities.

The Québec organizations that participated in this trade mission were:

• Pyrogenesis
• Innoventé
• Odotech
• Celluforce
• OPAL-RT
• Carnot Réfrigération

Increase Québec’s exports

It should be noted that one of the objectives of the Economy Department of the Québec Government Office in London is to increase the number Québec exporters and the volume of exports to the United Kingdom.
