Québec participates in forestry trade fair in Sweden

The Québec companies’ kiosks attracted many visitors.

Representatives from Québec companies PEDNO and Taimi participated in a forestry equipment trade fair in Sweden from June 4 to 8.

With support from Export Québec and Serdex International – an organization based in Saguenay–Lac-Saint-Jean that helps businesses export – the companies presented their products and met with many potential clients, partners and suppliers.

PEDNO supplies products such as chains, forwarder tracks and accessories for heavy equipment. Taimi manufactures hydraulic components and has developed a unique technology for ball-less swivels.

A one-of-a-kind trade fair

ElmiaWood is the largest international forestry equipment fair. It attracted over 46,000 visitors in 2013 and had nearly 500 exhibition booths.

Its originality stems from the fact that it takes place in the forest – 300 km outside of Stockholm - in a space built exclusively for the event. This makes it possible to demonstrate forestry equipment in a natural environment, i.e., where forestry work is carried out.

The Québec Government Office in London was also on hand to assist companies, foster meetings and arrange appointments with potential collaborators in parallel to the trade fair.

It bears mentioning that reaction to the Québec products was very positive. The two PEDNO and Taimi kiosks received heavy traffic and there was a high level of interest expressed in possible international partnerships.
