Paris celebrates Québec cinema

The 17th edition of Cinéma du Québec à Paris (“Québec cinema in Paris”) will take place from November 26 to December 1 at the Forum des Images centre in the French capital.

Presented by the Société de développement des entreprises culturelles (SODEC) under the honorary patronage of Carole Laure, this year’s edition of Cinéma du Québec à Paris is a chance for Parisians to enjoy 13 feature films, three documentaries, a “Nouveaux regards” section and a program of six shorts.

This year’s edition is dedicated to Arthur Lamothe and Michel Brault.

Feature films (dramas)

  • Opening (Paris preview): Le Démantèlement, by Sébastien Pilote. SACD Prize for Best Screenplay, International Critics’ Week, 2013 Cannes Film Festival.

  • L’autre maison, by Mathieu Roy. Public Award for the Most Popular Canadian Feature Film and Best Actor Award (Marcel Sabourin), 2013 Montréal World Film Festival.

  • La ligne de chaleur (1988), by Hubert-Yves Rose. Official selection, Directors’ Fortnight, 1988 Cannes Film Festival.
  • Les 4 Soldats, by Robert Morin. Best Canadian or Québec Feature, 2013 Fantasia International Film Festival.
  • Louis Cyr: l’homme le plus fort du monde, by Daniel Roby. Québec box-office success in 2013.
