MontréaL CollectionS makes big splash in Atlanta and Dallas

Québec fashion was in the limelight in the southern United States in October at the MontréaL CollectionS fashion shows in Atlanta and Dallas that highlighted the spring 2014 collections of Québec fashion designers.

Home-grown creative talent was showcased at the AmericasMart in Atlanta and the Dallas Market Center. The two events were organized by the Ministère des Relations internationales, de la Francophonie et du Commerce extérieur and the Québec Government Office in Atlanta (DQA) to promote the creations of Québec fashion designers with American buyers.

In Atlanta, over 200 representatives and buyers from specialty stores and retail chains attended the fashion show presenting 21 Montréal collections, including the very well-received collection by Jacynthe Boucher, a designer renowned for her unique interpretations of the latest international fashion trends.

In Dallas, some 300 representatives and buyers from specialty stores and retail chains attended the fashion show where ten of the best Québec designers and companies presented their collections.

These two trade missions enabled Québec fashion designers and companies to exhibit their creations in one of the best markets in the United States.

In 2012, Québec fashion exports to the southern United States totalled $34.7 million. Texas was ranked first in sales in the territory covered by the Québec Government Office in Atlanta.
