Minister Lisée to lead trade mission to Japan

With a GDP of $5,869.5 billion US, Japan is the world’s third largest economy

Minister Jean-François Lisée will lead a trade mission to Japan from January 19 to 23, 2014.

This first mission to the Land of the Rising Sun by a minister in the Marois government comes as negotiations for a Canada-Japan Economic Partnership (EPA) continue.

Japan is Québec’s second largest export market in Asia and seventh largest worldwide. Its highly competitive market holds business opportunities for innovative companies.

Companies wishing to take part in the mission must register on the Export Québec site by December 19.

Participants will be able to forge or consolidate business ties in the Japanese market through linkage and networking activities.

The mission will also be an opportunity to mark the 40th anniversary of the Québec Government Office in Tokyo (DGQT).

The DGQT opened in the fall of 1973 and is Québec’s only General Delegation in Asia.
