A delegation of 38 Québec companies participated in the Private Label Manufacturer’s Association Show (PLMA 2013) from November 17 to 19 in Rosemont, a suburb of Chicago.
This major international show is the largest of the private label industry, which includes the retail and restaurant sectors.
Over 1,000 exhibitors from 35 countries took part in the event.
The Québec Government Office in Chicago (DQC) contributed to several aspects of the mission, including the organization of business meetings with nearly twenty American buyers.
DQC, in collaboration with MRIFCE and the Ministère de l’Agriculture, des Pêcheries et de l’Alimentation du Québec (MAPAQ), has developed an innovative online directory that includes an interactive meeting planning system.
Other Québec government offices in the United States and abroad collaborated with DQC to share this tool with over 300 buyers in the Midwest Region (USA) and over 500 other buyers around the world.
The private label market in the United States increased by 2.9% in 2012, with record sales exceeding US$108 billion.
The PLMA organizes three international shows each year: Chicago (November), Amsterdam (May) and Shanghai (December).
