Minister Lisée meets New York State Lieutenant Governor

Minister Lisée with Daniel Breton, Parliamentary Assistant to the Premier for Transport Electrification, Dominique Poirier, Quebec's Delegate General to New York, and the Lieutenant Governor of the State of New York, Robert Duffy.

The Minister of International Relations, La Francophonie and External Trade, Jean-François Lisée, met with the Lieutenant Governor of the State of New York, Robert Duffy, who was on mission to Montréal in December.

Attending the meeting were Quebec's Delegate General to New York, Dominique Poirier and some ten representatives from Québec businesses and research centres active in New York State.

Two panels dealing with key sectors were organized to enable discussions among representatives from New York and stakeholders from Québec. The first focused on research and innovation, and more specifically on the nanotechnologies sector.

The two parties examined issues linked to research and the marketing of innovations. The development of joint R&D projects was also explored.

The second panel, chaired by the Parliamentary Assistant to the Premier for Transport Electrification, Daniel Breton, focused on issues pertaining to various sectors linked to electromobility.

Potential partnerships between Québec and New York State were likewise discussed.

Both parties agreed to continue working on this over the winter.
