Six young leaders from the United States and Brazil visited Québec from June 6 to 10 for a Québec–United States Young Leaders Program activity. The program menu included a number of meetings with Government of Québec, business and NGO representatives.

The young leaders met with Premier Jean Charest on the sidelines of the Montréal Conference, in which they participated. During their visit to Québec, they also held discussions with Minister of International Relations and Minister responsible for La Francophonie, Monique Gagnon-Tremblay, with whom they had an opportunity to discuss the challenges surrounding Québec–United States relations.

Participants in this program are selected based on their political, economic and social involvement with well-known, influential organizations as well as their interest in priority areas for Québec such as international relations, energy, the environment, the economy, and public policy.

The Québec–United States Young Leaders Program

This program, which is in its second year, is a perfect fit with the Québec Government’s U.S. Strategy. Its goal is to establish a constructive dialogue with the upcoming generation of leaders and promote a better understanding among them of Québec realities.
