The Ministère des Relations Internationales and the Ministère de la Culture, des Communications et de la Condition féminine are launching a call for projects in the fields of culture and communications in partnership with the Consulate General of Haiti in Montreal. This is intended to strengthen cooperation and stimulate discussion between Québec and the Republic of Haiti in connection with the joint declaration on cooperation in the fields of culture and communications that was signed in 2008 in conjunction with the XIIth Francophonie Summit.

A Haitian delegation headed by Secretary of State for Higher Education Jean-Claude François, which included Université Quisqueya Rector Jacky Lumarque, visited Québec from January 24 to 27, 2012, following an invitation from the consortium of Québec universities composed of Université du Québec à Montréal (UQAM), Université de Montréal, Université du Québec à Trois-Rivières (UQTR) and TÉLUQ.

The 7th UNESCO Youth Forum took place from October 17 to 20 at UNESCO headquarters in Paris. Les Offices jeunesse internationaux du Québec (LOJIQ) backed the participation of a delegation of young Quebec adults, including an artist, six observers and an intern. The Forum was a chance for them to discuss opinions, share experience and identify possibilities for future commitments and efforts.

At the third LOJIQ (Les Offices jeunesse internationaux du Québec) Awards Gala held on May 31 at the National Assembly of Québec, the Minister of International Relations and Minister responsible for La Francophonie, Monique Gagnon-Tremblay, presented the LOJIQ Grand Prize to author-singer-songwriter Spaïcy Bazile for her work on a humanitarian and creative project to encourage the rebuilding of Haiti.
