    Prize for raising the visibility of Québec artists on the international scene

    The Conseil des arts et des lettres du Québec (CALQ) prize for the best international tour will be awarded for the very first time in November 2012 to the organization that stood out by the exceptional quality of a tour outside Québec. The prize comes with a $10,000 cheque. The deadline for filing nominations is September 14, 2012.

    Samurai exhibition smash hit in Québec City

    Since it opened in April, the Samurai: Masterpieces from the Ann and Gabriel Barbier-Mueller Collection exhibition at the Musée de la civilisation in Québec City has been seen by over a quarter million visitors, some 281,208 people! The exhibition received support from the Ministère des Relations internationales as part of the 63th session of the Commission permanente de coopération franco-québécoise, which was held in Québec City in March 2011.

    A bust of Peruvian hero Admiral Miguel Grau Seminario was unveiled in Parc de l’Amérique-Latine in Québec City on August 17. It pays homage to the peoples of Latin America and also symbolizes the contributions to Québec society of the tens of thousands of Latin Americans who decided to settle in Québec.
