    Aerospace: Québec in Farnborough

    Sam Hamad, Minister of Economic Development, Innovation and Export Trade, will head the Québec delegation that will attend the 62nd Farnborough International Airshow from July 8 to 12. Around twenty businesses and organizations from Québec’s aerospace industry will also be in attendance.

    Hélène Lord’s Infinite City exhibition on show in London

    The London public had a chance to discover the Infinite City exhibition at Vyner Street Gallery in London June 7 to 12, 2012, including a watercolour by multidisciplinary Québec artist Hélène Lord, who was in residence at the Québec Studio in London. Composed of a series of small scenes, the mosaic shows the places visited by the artist during her six-month stay in the English capital.

    Young artists wanted for the cultural competitions of the Jeux de la Francophonie 2013

    Nice will host the 7th Jeux de la Francophonie from September 6 to 15, 2013. Québec is looking for young Quebecers to represent it in the cultural competitions of these games. The candidates selected by the Conseil des arts et des lettres du Québec (CALQ) will join more than 3,000 young people from 75 different Francophonie member states and governments at this event, which is intended to bring together the world’s French-speaking people.

    Academic exchanges drive relations between Québec and Russia

    Interuniversity contacts have played a major role in the marked progression of relations between Québec and Russia for a number of years. The recent visit by Efim Iosifovitch Pivovar, the Rector of the Russian State University for the Humanities (RGGU) in Moscow, is a prime example. Mr. Pivovar met Monique Gagnon-Tremblay, the Minister of International Relations, to discuss cooperation and the activities of the Moscow-Québec Interuniversity Centre.

    Québec celebrates 40 years in Germany

    Monique Gagnon-Tremblay, Minister of International Relations and Minister responsible for La Francophonie, is on a mission to Germany from November 14 to 18. A series of meetings and activities will bolster Québec’s relations with German regions and underline the 40th anniversary of Québec’s presence in the country.
